This rugged, mountainous property in the heart of the New Jersey Highlands in Passaic County is a link in the preserved greenway between Norvin Green State Forest to the east and protected Newark Watershed lands to the west.
Located on the south side of Weaver Road, the Skyline Preserve has two miles of blazed trails and two scenic overlooks. The overlook at a location known as Table Rock offers a vista of the New York City skyline. The preserve’s forest is a sanctuary for birds and other wildlife.
Hikers can park in a small roadside pull-off on the north side of Weaver Road, a short distance to the west of the preserve. The trailhead for the Skyline Preserve is marked by a diamond-shaped sign.
