Celebrating the work of Donald Jones

Every year, New Jersey Conservation Foundation and the Delaware River Mill
Society celebrate the work and life of our late Trustee, longtime
friend and local conservation legend Donald B. Jones.
The 16th annual Jones Walk will be held on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009.
There will be three separate hikes that meet at the Prallsville Mills on Route 29 in Stockton – a vigorous guided hike, a moderate guided hike, and a relaxing walk.
The hikes are held on preserved properties in our Wickecheoke Creek Preserve. A high tea at the Prallsville Mills, featuring libations and delicious treats, follows.
The vigorous hike begins at noon, and will meander through five miles of fields and woods. Hikers will see recently preserved properties, including the Cooper, Wheaton and Danese parcels.
The moderate hike meets at 12:30 p.m. at Prallsville Mills, and hikers can take bus or carpool to the hike site about 10 minutes away. Hikers will explore 250 acres of woods, covering about 2.5 miles. The hike includes a visit to High Falls on the Lockatong Creek. Trail may be muddy.
The relaxed 1.5 mile hike begins at 2 p.m. at Prallsville Mills. This will be a gentle walk up unpaved Worman Road to see the new Warren B. Cooper estate donation.
Even if you are unable to hike, please join us at 3 p.m. at the Prallsville Mills for refreshments with the hikers.
