What is the New Jersey Land Conservation Conference?
The annual New Jersey Land Conservation Conference is one of the nation’s largest statewide conservation training events. The event is a daylong educational experience offering workshops, plenary sessions, and networking opportunities.
At least 300 conservationists attend each year. All workshops are at least 75 minutes long and multiple sessions run concurrently.
Who is the audience?
The New Jersey Land Conservation Conference attracts a diverse audience. Here is the breakdown of 2015 attendees:
• 51% represented land conservation nonprofits, including land trusts that acquire land, nonprofits that steward land and watershed associations
• 20% from government entities, including federal, state, county and municipal leaders, from government offices and volunteers serving on open space committees and environmental commissions
• 8% from universities
• 7% from private companies that support land conservation, such as environmental consulting firms and trail builders
• 14% others, including foundation representatives and unaffiliated individuals
The experience and skills of Conference attendees vary tremendously, from professionals with years of experience to new volunteers and students.
