What is the New Jersey Land Conservation Rally?

The annual New Jersey Land Conservation Rally is one of the nation’s largest statewide conservation training events. The event is a daylong educational experience offering workshops, plenary sessions, and networking opportunities.

400 conservationists attended in 2017. All workshops are at least 75 minutes long and multiple sessions run concurrently. 29 workshops were offered in 2017.   To see last year's program, click here.

Who is the audience?
The New Jersey Land Conservation Rally attracts a diverse audience. Here is the breakdown of 2017 attendees:

> 42% represented land conservation nonprofits, including land trusts that acquire land, nonprofits that steward land and watershed associations

> 25% from government entities, including federal, state, county and municipal leaders, from government offices and volunteers serving on open space committees, agricultural  

   advisory boards, and environmental commissions
> 10% students
> 11% from private companies that support land conservation, such as environmental consulting firms and trail builders
>   7% from other nonprofit organizations

>   5% others, including general public, academic institutions, and unaffiliated individuals

The experience and skills of Rally attendees vary tremendously, from professionals with years of experience to new volunteers and students.
