9 - 10:15 a.m. - Session 1 (choice of 10 workshops, 75 minutes)

10:15 - 10:35 a.m. - "Spring Break"

10:35 - 11:50 a.m. - Session 2 (choice of 10 workshops, 75 minutes)

Noon - 12:45 p.m.- Buffet lunch and slide show

12:45 - 1:30 p.m. - Keynote address by Larry Selzer

1:30 - 1:45 p.m. - "Fall Break"

1:45 - 3 p.m. - Session 3 (choice of 10 workshops, 75 minutes)

3 - 3:15 p.m. - "Winter Break"

3:15 - 4 p.m. - Open forum roundtables (choice of 16 discussions)

Your registration fee includes admission into educational workshops and roundtable discussions, continental breakfast, buffet lunch, refreshments and wine-tasting social.

Costs:

General registration fee: $80 if paid by Feb. 27; $95 after Feb. 27

Presenters' registration fee: $65

Student registration fee (with student ID): $40

Field trip fee: $20

What is the New Jersey Land Conservation Rally?

The annual New Jersey Land Conservation Rally is one of the nation’s largest statewide conservation training events. The Rally is a daylong educational event offering more than 30 workshops, plenary sessions, and networking opportunities.

Over 325 conservationists attend each year. All workshops are 75 minutes long and multiple sessions run concurrently.  There is also a Pre-Rally Field Trip which highlights preservation efforts in a specific area of the state each year.

Who is the audience?
The New Jersey Land Conservation Rally attracts a diverse audience.  To give you an idea, here is the breakdown of attendees from the 2011 Rally:

  • 32% represented land conservation nonprofits, either land trusts that acquire land or those that steward land.
    • 10% from state agencies.
    • 15% from county and municipal governments - evenly split between members of environmental commissions & open space committees, plus a few from agriculture advisory groups.
    • 11% from private companies that support land conservation, such as appraisers, title companies, attorneys and environmental consulting firms.
    • 32% others, including federal government representatives, students, foundation representatives, nonprofits that don't own or steward land, and private companies.

The experience and skills of Rally attendees vary tremendously, from professionals with years of experience to new volunteers and students.

2011 Rally Recap

 

Our 15th annual New Jersey Land Conservation Rally on March 19, 2011 was jam-packed with exhibitors, educational workshops, an inspiring keynote address by photographer Annie Griffiths, roundtable discussions, networking and a great wine-tasting social at the end of the day.

More than 325 members of New Jersey’s land preservation community came together for a day of learning and networking at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, Monmouth County.
