What is the New Jersey Land Conservation Rally?
The annual New Jersey Land Conservation Rally is one of the nation’s largest statewide conservation training events. The event is a daylong educational experience offering workshops, plenary sessions, and networking opportunities.
350 conservationists attended in 2016. All workshops are at least 75 minutes long and multiple sessions run concurrently.
Who is the audience?
The New Jersey Land Conservation Rally attracts a diverse audience. Here is the breakdown of 2016 attendees:
> 36% represented land conservation nonprofits, including land trusts that acquire land, nonprofits that steward land and watershed associations
> 15% from other nonprofit organizations
>16% from government entities, including federal, state, county and municipal leaders, from government offices and volunteers serving on open space committees, agricultural advisory boards, and environmental commissions
> 13% students
> 9% from private companies that support land conservation, such as environmental consulting firms and trail builders
> 11% others, including general public, academic institutions, and unaffiliated individuals
The experience and skills of Rally vary tremendously, from professionals with years of experience to new volunteers and students.
